After
several years of professional-level use in Australia,
increasing numbers of sportsmen & women
in the UK are turning to the Bowen Technique to treat
acute injuries and relieve persistent/chronic
conditions. The Bowen Technique is now being used at
many sports clubs in
the UK, including some Premiership rugby and football
clubs.
Why?
Because the Bowen Technique can be instrumental in
improving player fitness, accelerating recovery and
preventing injuries - all of which can positively effect
success on the pitch, track, pool, court - in any sports
arena. And
in the case of an acute injury such as a sprain or strain,
the immediate application
of Bowen can put an athlete straight back in
the game.
Bowen can bypass
traumatic reactions like swelling, inflammation and
immobilization. Using Bowen immediately after an
injury can interrupt this trauma cycle completely,
giving the athlete with a much faster recovery and
little or no down-time after the injury. The healing
process will still be accelerated even if injuries are
treated some time after they happen.
That
is why sports clubs, teams and individuals across
Norfolk use The Bowen Centre for treating - and just as
importantly, preventing - sports injuries. The Bowen
Centre has a proven track record in reducing the
recurrence of chronic sports injuries - particularly
hamstring & groin strains, shin splints, tennis
& golfer's elbow, ankle sprains and lower back
problems, as well as successfully treating fresh/acute
injuries.
Using sport-specific techniques that are further
refined to each individual’s needs, my focus is not
just on the area of injury, but also on a fundamental
balancing of the body, establishing core stability and
maintaining the kinetic muscle chains that are vital to
effective performance and remaining injury-free in the
long-term.
